IMPORTANT: The dip switches on the WiiKey Fusion MUST be set to your region/console before installing. You may have to remove an orange film as shown above before flipping the switches.

Once the film has been removed if it is present, your switches will look like above.
In our experience an unfolded paperclip works best but you could use a small screwdriver/needle/pencil or pen to flip the switches to the required position as shown in the image. I.E. For European consoles or consoles in the UK that are PAL, the switches should be configured such that switch 1 and 2 are on (up or 'right' position in the image).
Likewise, for consoles in the US/Canada that are NTSC, the switches should be configured such that switch 1 is off (down or 'left' in the image) and switch 2 is on (up).
A summary of switch configurations for all regions is below:

As can be seen from the table, the switches labelled 3 and 4 should be in the ON position for ALL regions.
2.

Once the switches have been configured correctly we can begin to install the WiiKey Fusion.
The modchip is marked with the words 'Host', 'DVD' and 'SD' next to the cable connectors/sockets, these words denote where each particular cable should be plugged in. To insert the cable from the Wii that we disconnected from the DVD drive in the opening the Wii guide into the WiiKey Fusion simply flip the black plastic clip upwards, it may be a little stiff at first, you can use fingers/finger nails to do this.
Once the clip is open, slide the Wii cable gold contacts side down (black plastic upwards) into the connector on the WiiKey Fusion. Drive cable colours may vary but the plastic on the end of the cable should always be placed upwards metal contacts down in to the connector.

To secure the cable, make sure it is fully inserted in to the connector on the WiiKey Fusion and push the black clip down back in to place. The cable coming from the Wii will now be secured.
3.

As was done with the cable from the Wii in the previous step, the 'thick' cable you received with your WiiKey Fusion should now be installed in the same way in the connector marked 'DVD', again ensuring the gold contacts are face down and the cable is fully inserted and secure.
4.

Before connecting the end of the DVD cable to the DVD drive the cable for the SD card reader should be installed, it is installed in the same fashion as the previous cables, it should be installed as shown with the blue text on the cable facing upwards.
5.

The final cable to connect inside the Wii is the DVD cable coming from the DVD connector of the chip to the connector on the DVD drive. The brown connector on the Wii DVD drive is opened and closed similarly to the black connectors on the WiiKey Fusion. Insert the DVD cable in to the connector blue plastic facing upwards and then push down on the connector to close it when the cable is fully inserted.
6.

With all the cables connected to the WiiKey Fusion it is time to replace the DVD drive. Firstly the power cable should be reconnected back to the DVD drive and then the slack of the power cable replaced back in to the cavity as indicated with the white arrow in the image above. If you have electrical tape available you can use it to insulate and secure the chip although this is not essential and it will function fine without it.

When replacing the DVD drive ensure that the white DVD drive cable is not being pressed against the metal casing surrounding the GameCube controller ports, this can be done by pushing the cable in when the DVD drive is in placed and slightly raised. Ensure that the DVD drive is firmly in place and does not wobble when testing if it is in place. If you position the WiiKey Fusion in the same place we have the SD cable will protrude from behind the DVD drive as above. Once the WiiKey fusion and DVD drive are correctly installed, replace the four drive screws removed earlier, do not over tighten the screws as it may damage the modchip below.
10.

We are choosing to have the SD card reader at the rear of our Wii console so are routing the SD cable out the back of the Wii above the USB ports. You do not have to position your SD card reader in the same place, if you can route the cable out of a different side of the Wii without it being damaged you can have the SD reader located elsewhere.
The SD cable should be slid gently across towards the left side of the console and then positioned inline with the USB ports. For the purposes of taking the picture electrical tape was used to secure the cable in place allowing a picture to be taken without it moving, you can hold the cable in place above the USB ports and replace the top casing of the Wii over it, the end of the cable will be exposed as shown below.

11.

The external SD card reader comes in two pieces, the base which contains the SD Card slot and the silver cover. We recommend that you keep the silver cover off until you have tested the WiiKey Fusion installation and confirmed it working before attaching the cover.

The connector for the SD card reader opens by sliding it outwards, this is best done using your nails.

Insert the end of the SD card reader cable through the opening on the side of the SD card reader base and in to the connector on the reader. Ensure that the cable is fully insert the secure the cable by closing the brown clip pushing it inwards.

With the SD cable successfully connected to the SD card reader you can now attach it to the side of your console using the included double sided adhesive pad. First peel one side and stick it to the back of the SD reader then remove the covering on the other side and position the reader where you want it located on your console, then press firmly and it will be attached.

Once you have fitted the SD reader and tested that your installation is working you can fit the silver cover by orientating it so that the blue cut-out is nearest the back. With the silver cover slotted in to the reader base press down evenly and firmly, the silver covered will now be securely in place.
Your WiiKey Fusion is now successfully installed.
