Our printable Screw Guide. A simple guide we created to help keep track of which screw goes where, ideal for new users, simply print the image to scale on A4 paper and place it on a flat/stable surface, when you remove a screw/sticky foot place it in the corresponding square on the print out. When it comes to reassembling the console, take the appropriate screw from the appropriate box, simple as that.

1.

The red arrows above point to the plastic stickers/feet that need to be removed to show the screws. Using your scalpel/blade, push gently under the sticker/foot and push upwards to remove it. It is a good idea to place these on some grease proof paper/sticker paper to preserve their adhesive.
In the case of the Wii battery door, simply unscrew the door and place to the side, revealing another screw beneath it.

The screws which need to be removed using either the crosshead or triwing screwdriver.
2.

On the bottom side of the Wii there are more plastic stickers/feet which need to be removed to reveal the screws as in the first step. Once removed, the screws can be unscrewed using the triwing screwdriver.
3.

The topside of the Wii where the Gamecube ports are located has two doors which can be removed by simply pulling them upwards when in the open position. The three small crosshead screws indicated by the red arrows should then be removed and the black plastic piece slid downwards then pulled up to remove.

Once the black plastic piece has been removed there are more screws to remove, as previously unscrew then set them aside.
4.

After the screws on the top of the Wii have been removed the front face plate can be detached by gently pulling it away from the console. There is a short wire connecting the faceplate to the console, gently remove this.
5.

With the faceplate and all screws holding the casing together removed the case can be opened by separating the two halves, pulling them apart.
6.

Removing the top half of the case reveals the DVD drive, unscrew the fours crosshead screws indicated.

The DVD drive is connecting to the console by a power and data cable located on the left (when the console is facing you), gently lift the right side of the drive up to reveal the cables.

With the drive lifted to the left, gently remove the white power cable by pulling it away from the connector.

With the power cable removed, there is less restriction and you can place the drive down gently next to the console, making sure not to pull or stress the data cable. The data cable can now be removed by opening the brown 'door'/retention mechanism, gently lifting the brown connector upwards. This should be done gently using either your scalpel/blade or finger nail as to ensure that the mechanism is not damaged.

The DVD drive is now fully removed from the console and your modchip is ready to be fitted.
